Take a step back in time to the year 1537 in the small Village of Crossroads in the County of Wiltshire, South West England. Watch the drama unfold as her royal highness Marie de Guise, Duchess of Longueville, progresses through England on her way to marry King James V of Scotland. She is escorted by King James' emissary Laird McRea. But will she make it to her final destination or will Sir Francis Bryant, King Henry VIII's emissary and the Sheriff of Wiltshire, convince her to marry Henry instead?
In honor of Marie de Guise's visit to Crossroads, Lord William Stourton, the Earl of Lincoln, has decided to have a day of merriment and fun in the form of a faire. He has invited merchants to sell their wares, performers to entertain and amaze, and noble knights to joust. His daughter, Lady Ursula, has been charged with the duty of accompanying Marie de Guise and her court to the faire.
