Rosenvolk Medieval Festival

Canceled for 2022!

2022 Dates: October 14 - 16

Official Description

We are a yearly Renaissance Faire in Southern Indiana dedicated to Education and Fun, focused on German Medieval Culture. For one weekend each October the Ferdinand Indiana 18th Street Park is transformed into the Medieval Village of Grunwald “Green Forest” for the annual Rosenvolk German Medieval Festival. Our Festival features the renowned Knights of Valour performing daily Jousts & Jousting Games in the Arena. The visiting Landsknects erect their temporary camp complete with Queen and camp followers. This merry band of mercenaries bring unique color and a level of historical correct(and incorrect)-ness that must be seen to be appreciated. Come test your mercenary skills against these German Medieval re-enactors! We have three Entertainment Stages with musicians, story-tellers, fools, fire-eaters, and acts of all forms. Among the lanes of the Vendors Village you will also find Wandering Minstrels, Stilt Walkers, Flower Sellers, Bards, Fools, and even a Living Statue. While in the Vendor Village look out for the calligrapher, unicorn horns, period garb, weapons, armor, and other perfect additions for your medieval journeys. Food Vendors abound with treats both sweet and savory to tease the taste buds. Do not miss the Saturday Night’s Woodland Masquerade. A favorite of all who visit! This special show brings the audience into the show with special dances and crowd favorite games.
