A Waffle Lot of Fun

About

"A Waffle Lot of Fun" is the work of Corin Wiggins and Jonah "Willow" Collins, physical theatre performers trained in Commedia dell'Arte; a 16th-century Italian masked comedic style. This explosive theatre genre features easily recognizable characters and familiar situations, similar to a medieval Tom and Jerry. Corin and Willow have taken these archetypal characters and, drawing on their own experience as born and raised American Southerners, put them in the context of a cheap breakfast diner inspired by the iconic southern restaurant chain Waffle House. Pantalone is the anxious manager while Pulcinella is the eager but over-worked line cook. Together, the two find themselves in an absurd situation they can only cope with through extreme tomfoolery, creating an environment rich in hilarity and fear.
